Tax Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to oversee our tax compliance and planning functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of clients, providing tax planning strategies, and ensuring compliance with federal and state tax regulations. The Tax Manager will play a critical role in advising high net worth individuals and entities on complex tax matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual, partnership, trust, and corporate tax returns including but not limited to 1040, 1120S, 1065, 1041, and 709 forms.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies for high net worth individuals and closely-held businesses.
- Manage and oversee tax compliance for S-Corporations, C-Corporations, and passthrough entities.
- Prepare financial statements and ensure accuracy in tax reporting.
- Conduct tax research and stay updated on current tax regulations and legislation.
- Mentor and train junior tax staff and develop training materials as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments including accounting and financial planning to provide comprehensive services to clients.
- Handle inquiries from tax authorities and assist with tax audits.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or LLM in Taxation is a plus.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax compliance and planning.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations for individuals and businesses, particularly high net worth individuals.
- Experience preparing tax returns for S-Corp, C-Corp, partnerships and trusts.
- Proficient in tax research and using tax software and Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
