Position Overview
The Safety Director is responsible for overseeing and implementing safety management systems to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. This role involves developing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety management systems and policies.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards.
  • Lead training sessions on safety practices and procedures for employees.
  • Collaborate with management to develop strategies for minimizing risks and enhancing workplace safety.
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare and present safety reports and metrics to senior management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience in safety management, preferably in industries such as utilities, gas/oil or mining.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA (1910, 1926 etc) regulations and safety standards.
  • Familiarity with safety assessments and risk management practices.
  • Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or similar are preferred.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of SCL and SIF
