We are seeking an attorney licensed in California with 3+ years' experience to handle civil litigation matters throughout the state. Candidates with experience in defense of premises liability and/or construction defect will be given highest priority. The firm offers hands-on experience with matters from day one and a team of partners, senior associates, paralegals and support staff to support you in a collaborative work environment.
Job duties include:
- Handling litigation matters from inception through trial with minimal supervision, including discovery, issue analysis, depositions, expert retention, expert discovery and settlement.
- Independent handling of court appearances, depositions and hearings.
- Some local travel to attend hearings, site inspections, etc.
- Working collaboratively with a team to accomplish other client and firm objectives.
Qualifications:
-3+ years' of civil litigation experience (experience in defense of premises liability and/or construction defect is a plus)
-Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
-Admission to the California State Bar
-Proven experience in litigation and trial advocacy
-Strong research and writing skills for effective legal representation
-Familiarity with legal databases such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
-Excellent communication and negotiation skills
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
