It’s a great time to be in tech! Research firm Gartner just released a forecast that global tech spending will reach nearly $4 trillion this year – a 4.1 percent increase over last year.
“More tech spending means more tech jobs,” CyberCoders CTO Matt Miller said. “Our recruiters represent thousands of tech jobs, and we add more every day. The challenge is finding enough talented people with the skills and background to fill them all – that is why we need to guide more young people toward IT and Engineering fields.”
Gartner foresees growth in four key areas – the “Nexus of Forces” – including mobile, social, cloud and information.
If you’re in tech, or considering a tech career, look for opportunities in those areas.
“The Gartner forecast is especially useful to IT professionals who want to see what tech sectors are poised to grow the most in the coming years,” Miller said. “If you want to stay ahead of the curve, start looking for opportunities in cloud, social, mobile and big data.”
Gartner asked CIOs to share what technologies are their top priorities for 2013. Included are:
*Business Intelligence
*Mobile Technologies
*Cloud Computing
*Collaboration Technologies
*Legacy Modernization
*IT Management
*CRM
*Virtualization
*Security
*ERP Applications
