We are seeking a Head of Proteomics to join our dynamic and growing company.
Responsibilities:
Drive analytical innovation and biological discovery in a state-of-the-art proteomics lab
with a team.
Manage proteomics department including logistical planning of resources for client
projects as well as R&D efforts, personnel management and recruiting, and advocating
for additional resources and budget.
Work closely with the data science team to provide insights into complex multi-omic
data as well as interact with the commercial team to curate new product offerings and
literature such as case studies, white sheets and research publications. Serve as subject matter expert in proteomics and/or multi-omics for internal as well as external communications.
Collaborate with scientists and clinicians to investigate scientific and medical problems
with rigorous analysis and critical thinking.
Ensure data quality through implementation of data monitoring, QC metrics,
standardized operating procedures, and formal staff training.
Able to perform and communicate within a collaborative environment with an emphasis
on data quality, integrity, and adherence to project deadlines.
Provide critical input on and communication of proteomics study results and present
scientific data.
Requirements:
PhD in Chemistry, chemical engineering, bioengineering, biochemistry, biology, or related scientific field
A minimum of 7 years, post PhD, of professional experience working in proteomics with a focus on, but not limited to, mass-spectrometry-based methods
Extensive experience with development and implementation of sample preparation workflows for label-free bottom-up proteomics from a wide array of biomatrices.
Extensive experience with LC-MS method development, implementation, validation, QC, and troubleshooting for proteomic sample analysis using DIA and DDA data collection workflows, especially with Bruker timsTOF instruments.
Experience with development and validation of targeted protein assays, ideally within a regulated framework is desired.
Experience with leading teams and project management.
Deep understanding of how to utilize lab automation and leverage LIMS/ELN systems in a regulated environment, while using discretion and scientific judgement.
Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to serve as proteomics SME in client interactions, collaborate with peers, mentor others, and create business impact through meaningful analysis of data.
