Job Summary:
Involves overseeing and managing all aspects of land clearing and forestry operations. Develop and implement strategic plans for land clearing and forestry operations, aligning with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for land clearing and forestry operations, aligning with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of land clearing and forestry activities, including site preparation,
Resource Allocation: Allocate resources such as personnel, equipment, materials, and budgetary funds effectively to optimize operational efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, quality standards, and safety protocols.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with clients, landowners, government agencies, environmental organizations, and other stakeholders, addressing their needs and concerns promptly and professionally.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing land use, forestry practices, environmental protection, and occupational health and safety standards.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and hazards associated with land clearing and forestry operations, implementing proactive measures to mitigate risks, prevent accidents, and protect personnel and property.
Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality control measures to maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and environmental responsibility across all operational activities.
Team Leadership: Provide leadership, guidance, and support to operational teams, equipment operators, and administrative staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Training and Development: Facilitate training programs and professional development opportunities for staff members, ensuring they possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and certifications to perform their roles effectively and safely.
Budget and Financial Management: Develop and manage operational budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, monitoring expenses, revenues, and profitability to optimize financial performance and achieve business objectives
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in forestry, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Forester) is a plus.
Extensive experience in land clearing, forestry operations, or related fields, with a demonstrated track record of leadership and achievement in managing complex projects and teams.
Strong knowledge of forestry principles, practices, and techniques.
Proficiency in regulatory requirements and compliance standards governing land use, forestry operations, environmental protection, and workplace safety.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to analyze complex issues, develop innovative solutions, and drive operational excellence.
Leadership qualities, including integrity, resilience, adaptability, and the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve shared goals.
Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and software for planning, scheduling, and monitoring operational activities.
Strong financial acumen and budget management skills, with the ability to analyze financial data, make informed decisions, and achieve cost-effective outcomes.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required to oversee operational activities within the assigned region.
