Title: Electrical Controls Engineer
Location: Charlotte, NC
Scope of Responsibilities:
Provide electrical and controls engineering support of facilities, manufacturing equipment, and utilities, including:
PLC, PC, and servo-controlled processing and packaging equipment.
Utility equipment including HVAC, boilers, air compressors, and chillers.
Bulk solids and liquid handling systems.
Daily collaboration with Maintenance and Operations.
Control engineering mentor to Automation Technicians, Maintenance Technicians, and Engineers.
Full-cycle management of capital projects for both new equipment installations and improvements to existing installations.
Demonstration of safety as a condition philosophy throughout the organization
Provide engineering support of new product innovation opportunities.
Serve as a mentor to operators and maintenance technicians to drive shop-floor equipment and process ownership.
Support the Preventive Maintenance program by performing PM activities and assisting in continuous program improvement.
Support Engineering projects for both new equipment installations and improvements to existing installations.
Read and interpret schematics, manuals, blueprints, and other technical documents
Qualifications:
BS or technical degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
2+ years demonstrated experience with automated manufacturing equipment, with an emphasis on electrical and control systems.
Hands-on attitude with the willingness and ability to work closely with personnel on the shop floor.
Plus but not required:
SCADA system experience, specifically selection and implementation
Ability to configure and program PLC, PC, and HMI / GUI systems.
Experience in a GMP manufacturing environment.
