Full service AM 200 law firm with offices in Pleasanton and Marin County, CA, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its education law practice group. This is an opportunity for an Attorney with 3-8+ years of experience who is eager to pivot into a meaningful practice that impacts public education. Candidates from various legal backgrounds, including litigation (plaintiff or defense), labor & employment, insurance defense, workers' compensation, or family law, are encouraged to apply, especially if motivated to address issues such as discrimination, harassment, and student welfare.
Offer:
$120k-$200k+ depending on experience
Monthly productivity bonus and end-of-year bonus
Profit sharing (10% of compensation)

Qualifications:
3-8+ years of experience with litigation (plaintiff or defense), labor & employment, insurance defense, workers' compensation, or family law
Interested in changing practices to education law
Juris Doctorate and California Bar membership in good standing
Strong academic background from an accredited law school (UC Law San Francisco, UC Davis, USF, McGeorge, University of Santa Clara, or comparable)
Responsibilities:
Handle a caseload of education-related litigation, primarily focused on administrative hearings and civil rights issues
Represent K-12 schools, community colleges, and universities on labor and employment matters, student issues, and policy development
Contribute to the goal of advancing equity and excellence in educational institutions
Represent and advise educational institutions on matters that shape policy and culture
Work closely with a dynamic team on litigation and administrative hearing cases
Develop experience in education law and contribute to the wellbeing of public school communities
Collaborate with a dedicated team, including Senior Counsel and assist in expanding the litigation practice within the education sector
